Working at Autodesk has its perks for sure. I ended up getting a copy of Mudbox 2012, and have to say I am quite impressed with the modeling tools. It is much easier to do hard surfaces such as armor. This is my first concept sculpt created in Mudbox.
The best tools for doing the armor were the wax, smooth, pinch, and knife brushes. I created the repeated shapes, such as the small squares running up the middle of his chest by using a stamp, setting the stamp distance high, and turning on steady stroke.I also bought a copy of TopoGun last night. I’ll probably take this concept into that tool, as my first attempt at retopologizing a high resolution model.
